The Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department was started in the year of 2008 offering Under Graduate course in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with an intake capacity of 60 students. The Department has a rich tradition of research and teaching. The department offers an undergraduate program and a postgraduate program namely M.Tech. in VLSI. The Department is planning to have a strong research program leading to the PhD degree in the area of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Prof. Devashree Marotkar is pursuing her PhD degree in antenna from RTMNU Nagpur, completed M.Tech VLSI Design & Embedded Systems in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. She has teaching experience of 12 years in the relevant field. Currently, she is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of BE E&TC in the best Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering College in Nagpur- G H Raisoni Institute of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous).
She has published more than 15 research articles in national and international Journals/Conferences. Her area of research includes Antenna Design, Wireless Communication etc.
VLSI Design & Embedded Systems
The VLSI program will cover the fundamentals and engineering aspects of designing and developing IC based systems. Traditionally VLSI technology has emerged out as a successful conglomeration of two streams: material science and electronics engineering. The state of the art VLSI technology requires research in physical devices as well as novel design and development of electronics circuits. The program will focus on developing hands-on skills in designing semiconductor devices and circuits, architecting systems using embedded components such as CPU, memory and peripherals. Students will be trained in several topics that cut across the different domains, starting from the lowermost level of physical devices to the top level of application development.

The curriculum focuses on employing hierarchical design methods and understanding the design issues at the various levels of hierarchy. Students are exposed to various design software in this programme. Also, they learn to design, simulate, implement and test complex digital systems using FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). Students are trained in several topics that cut across the different domains, starting from the lowermost level of physical devices to the top level of application development.
